Conifer Collection
The Conifer Collection provides a further link to the history of the original plantings of the Gardens.

The early 1870’s was a boom time for the Sale Botanic Gardens, with paths laid out, mass plantings by the community and the beginning of the Conifer Collection.

While records are not detailed, it is believed that there are a number of species, particularly Cupressus torulosa (Bhutan Cypress) that were planted by the community as part of the celebration of Queen Victoria’s birthday in 1872.
