Children's Playspace
The Children's Playspace allows young people to explore physical boundaries and provides opportunity for social interaction and cognitive development.

At the main entrance to the Gardens sits the very popular Children’s Playspace.

Constructed in 1988 as part of Australia’s Bicentennial Program, additions to the space have seen a more inclusive and accessible space for the many families that use the area.

Sitting adjacent to the Picnic Pavilion, it allows young people to explore physical boundaries and provides opportunity for social interaction and cognitive development.

The character of the area, expanses of lawn interspersed with shade trees encourages families to picnic.

The boundaries of the area are bordered by paths and the Catalogue Living Collection. Popular within the space is the Flying Fox and the recently installed Birds Nest Swing.

Recent additions to the playspace include the Viking Swing which can cater for a large number of children at one time.
